Each portfolio is built from a “Buy List” of approximately 70 stocks. The securities on the "Buy List" under go intense scrutiny from our research staff and are monitored continuously. Individual securities are added to balance risk and diversification within the portfolio, as well as to accommodate individual client needs.
An existing portfolio can be transferred to UIA in its entirety. We are tax sensitive and will take care to work the portfolio out of positions that will not be retained. This service is particularly helpful for portfolios invested in small company stocks that are not well known to the investor.
- Portfolios normally contain 20-35 stocks depending on the value of the portfolio.
- At the time of a client’s initial investment, each stock will represent 2-5% of the portfolio’s total value.
- A portfolio is normally invested within 30 days after the transfer of funds or securities.
- Small-cap positions will be concentrated in high-growth positions. These stocks typically pay no dividends. In today’s market, high-growth stocks are found in the following areas: energy, biotechnology, medical laboratories and devices, technology, and financial services.
- Portfolios are monitored continuously. Stocks that do not meet expectations are reviewed immediately.
- Clients receive a description of the companies in which they are invested, as well as the company’s web site address as a source for additional information.
